The platform that came first
Affilorama is the name that appears in almost every discussion of this seller, usually without explanation. It was a training platform, it ran for many years, and it is not what is being sold this month.
What it was
One of the first serious attempts to teach affiliate marketing in an organised way, launched when almost nobody was doing that. It carried free lessons, paid membership tiers, software tools and a community, and it accumulated material continuously rather than shipping a fixed course.
That accumulation is the defining feature and it is also the difference from what is on sale now. A platform grows a library; a launch ships a sequence.
Why the distinction matters this month
Because a library and a sequence produce different outcomes from the same person. A library invites browsing, and browsing is how bought courses become unopened ones. A sequence removes the question of what to do next, which is the thing that actually stops people.
Anyone who bought the platform years ago and did not finish it should read that paragraph twice, because the obstacle was almost certainly structural rather than a lack of information.
Does owning it give you anything now
No. An old membership carries the old material and nothing from the current programme. The shared founder makes people reasonably assume some continuity of access, and there is none.
What it is worth to you as evidence
It establishes duration. A business running publicly under one name for two decades is checkable, has a discussion history, and is a different proposition from an operator with one sales page and no past.
That is genuinely useful and it is also the limit of what it proves. It says nothing about this year's teaching, which is a separate question with a free way to answer it.
Why the platform model gave way to launches
Continuous availability sounds like the friendlier arrangement and it has a specific failure attached: a thing you can start any time is a thing you can start later, and later does not arrive for most buyers.
A window forces the decision and a cohort forces the pace. That is an uncomfortable trade if you dislike deadlines, and it is the reason the launch format displaced the membership format across this entire industry rather than only here.
Reading old reviews sensibly
Take what they say about the seller and the business; ignore what they say about contents. Material from that era describes an internet that reorganised itself several times since, and applying it to the current programme produces confident conclusions about something nobody examined.
